No fixed route. Sandbox games hand you a map, a clock and a cast, and let you decide who to visit and when. In a parody that is a strong pull: you know these characters, so choosing which one to spend Tuesday afternoon with is the point. The downside is grind; the better ones telegraph what to do next. Most are Ren'Py or RPG Maker and most are ongoing, so check the version and last-build date before committing an evening.
