The engine tells you more than you might think. It decides whether a game can run in the browser, whether there is an Android build, roughly how it plays, and how likely the next update is to break your save. Ren'Py runs most of the parody visual novels and is what nearly every browser-playable game here is built on. Unity and Unreal carry the 3D and action games. RPG Maker means maps, battles and a lot of walking. HTML and Flash are the old guard: small, quick, and sometimes still the most fun on the page. "Other" is everything the catalogue could not pin down.
